
Sylvia Aguilera is Executive Director of the Hispanic Technology and Telecommunications Partnership, HTTP, a coalition created by Hispanic advocates in 1996 to ensure that the needs and perspectives of the Hispanic community would be included in technology and telecommunications policy debates.
Ms. Aguilera is an experienced executive with expertise in public policy and communications. In her career, she has served as Vice President of the multicultural public relations firm, Comunicad; President/CEO of the National Hispanic Corporate Council; Vice President at the National Community Reinvestment Coalition; and as a Director in Housing and Community Economic Development at the National Puerto Rican Coalition.
Ms. Aguilera was a Woodrow Wilson Fellow at the University of Chicago, were she earned a Masters degree in Public Policy. She received her Bachelor’s degree from American University.
Ms. Aguilera is on the national board of Latinos in Social Media (LATISM)and serves as Treasurer of the LATISM DC Chapter of and is on the Board of Directors of the National Capital Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). She is currently working towards earning her APR certification from PRSA and the Universal Accreditation Board. The APR is a mark of distinction for professionals in the field of public relations.
